Air Arabia Maroc, Morocco’s new low-cost carrier, is to start its operations on May 6, 2009 with its inaugural flight to Stansed Airport in London.
The new airline, led by MD, Adel Ali, will fly to and from the Moroccan city of Casablanca.
It will be flying four times a week between Stansted and Casablanca. The new carrier has chosen Stansted as its first destination. It will start operations with two brand new Airbus A320 aircraft.
The new airline has been set up by Air Arabia in partnership with Regional Air Lines, a private carrier in Morocco, and Ithmaar Bank of Bahrain.
Air Arabia has assumed management control of the carrier.
Air Arabia’s second hub in Casablanca will provide the Sharjah-based LCC with a platform from which to reach the wider Europe, Middle East and Africa market.
