Andrew Crawley, who is head of sales at British Airways, has reportedly been promoted.
As per the information available, Crawley has been promoted to the position of director of sales and marketing across the globe.
The Financial Times reported: "A senior British Airways executive facing the threat of jail for allegedly dishonestly fixing fuel prices has been promoted to the company's management board as part of a restructuring programme."
The report mentioned that Crawley will take up his post in January, less than two weeks before he is due to appear in court along with three former BA executives accused of the same offence.
BA said Crawley would for the first time join the executive management board after a restructuring that has involved 450 managerial redundancies. He will take on extra marketing responsibilities after the departure of Katherine Whitton, head of marketing communications.
BA declined to comment on Crawley's position, saying it would be "completely inappropriate" to do so while legal proceedings against him were going on.
