The total market size of China's online tourism reached RMB 728.5 million in the second quarter of 2008, increasing 10 percent quarter on quarter and 17 percent year on year.
The figure has been shared by advisory firm Analysys International in its China Online Tourism Market Quarterly Tracker Q2 2008 report.
Analysys also stated that the business of hotel online booking has reached RMB 368 million. Air tickets online booking and tourism packages account for RMB306 million and RMB 55 million, respectively.
"Due to the adjustment on May holiday policy and the earthquake, the tourism online business had a slow increasing pace in the second quarter," stated Analysys.
According to a recent Google whitepaper, the number of mobile users researching travel via their mobile devices is expected to grow 51% in 2012.
