Holiday planning website HolidayIQ has launched in-video advertisements on the recently launched travel video section on its website.

Kingfisher Airlines became the first in-video advertiser on HolidayIQ.com.

The company says it is now the first travel site in India and among the first three websites in India to provide a video advertising platform on the Internet. HolidayIQ.com recently launched a travel video section for hosting user generated videos on destinations and hotels.

"HolidayIQ's audiences are savvy, holiday-buyers who arrive on the site ready to 'indulge' themselves and their families. After all, they are researching their next holiday and their intention is to spend a significant amount of money to give themselves a good time. This high quality audience, primed for spending is what we offer to our advertisers," said Hari Nair, Founder and CEO of HolidayIQ.

According to HolidayIQ, they are a little ahead of the market for video on the net as a mainstream vehicle for advertising.

"But we are ready when the market is ready. There is a growing demand for video advertising, not only as pre-roll and post-roll ads, but other formats as well. Currently we are not offering stand alone video advertising. Ads are displayed along with content as they have better recall. Click through rates of content supported videos are supposed to be higher," said Hari.

Advertisers on HolidayIQ.com include Kingfisher Airlines, Lufthansa, Club Mahindra, Ireland Tourism, Emirates Airlines, ICICI Bank and National Geographic.
