Spirit Airlines has selected Mall Networks to power a customised online shopping mall for its Free Spirit frequent flyer programme members.

Spirit Airlines is the largest privately-held airline in the United States and offers service to 33 cities in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Mall Networks connects top online merchants to the universe of consumer rewards programmes.

Spirit Airlines selected Mall Networks’ online shopping portal for several key reasons, “including rich personalisation and product search capabilities, easy configuration and integration options, and out-of-the-box relationships with over 400 leading retailers and merchants.”

The Spirit Airlines merchant-funded rewards mall, expected to launch in spring 2007, rewards frequent flyer programme members by providing a one-stop online shopping destination with exclusive promotions, discounts and mileage rewards.

Free Spirit members will earn miles each time they shop at more than 400 major, brand-name retailers in the Spirit Airlines mall including circuitcity.com, JCPenney.com, OfficeDepot.com, ProFlowers.com, Sears.com, Lands’ End, Overstock.com and many others.

Barry Biffle, chief marketing officer, Spirit Airlines. “We continue to expand our overall offering on spiritair.com which is already known for the best deals on airfare, hotels, car rentals and event tickets. Now our customers can expect great shopping deals from our online mall. Mall Networks not only provides the best solution, they bring the experience and best practices to make online malls successful for both the loyalty programme and the consumer.”
