Travel search site Farecast.com has launched free international predictions for more than 200 markets from US cities to the popular destinations in Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada.

According to the company, fares to Europe during the peak summer months are on average 11% higher this year over 2007 and consumers will be relieved to save over $150 on average for two tickets, using Farecast.com international predictions when shopping for airfare.

"With economic uncertainty and fares to Europe tracking 11% higher this year, the stakes of knowing when to buy are considerably higher for international flights," said Hugh Crean, President and CEO, Farecast.com. "International predictions were the number one most requested feature by consumers, and with this launch we are one step closer to providing predictions to anywhere you want to travel."

Consumers can expect to pay $600 to $1,500 on the lowest price airfare from top US cities to most European destinations, compared to $350 for domestic travel, making knowing when to buy even more important. Average fares from major US cities to popular European destinations as of the date of this release are: Los Angeles to Paris, $1,150, New York's JFK to Frankfurt, $1,030, Chicago O'Hare to London Heathrow, $823, Dallas Ft. Worth to Amsterdam, $1,022, while Denver to Rome averages $1,286.

Fares from top US to Mexico and Caribbean markets average $360 in the low season, to over $500 in the high season.
