Hostelworld.com has celebrated 10 million booking-mark. The online reservations site for the budget accommodation sector was launched in 1999.
Last month, the company had witnessed one-millionth download of its Pocket Guide from the site.
Hostelworld.com's CEO Feargal Mooney attributed reaching of the landmark to hard work by the team, innovation and technology.
Mooney said, "With the credit crunch making people re-look at their holiday plans we have noticed a significant increase in bookings on this time last year. People do not want to forgo their sacred holiday and therefore are turning to a more affordable alternative – hostels - which offer a unique range of accommodations and top-rate facilities. Hostelworld offers every type of hostel to suit the more economically minded – from luxurious to family friendly, from eco to city central, all over the world."
Up to six million extra holidays each year will be fully protected against the failure of a travel company under new measures announced in the UK.
Best Western International has launched a new promotion on its Facebook page. The company says it intends to remind everyone that road warriors are heroes to the people back home, and this promotion is a way to connect the dots between making a living and living it up with those you love.
GetThere has added new capabilities to its mobile offering in order to meet travellers’ needs on the road while still adhering to the corporation’s policies and preferences.
