Online travel company Orbitz has launched a new programme that offers travel agents the opportunity to earn commissions on hotel reservations and customised travel package bookings made on behalf of their customers using the Orbitz for Agents website.
The new programme gives agents hotel options, including promotional rates on thousands of properties.
The Orbitz for Agents programme also allows travel agents to create customised travel packages (e.g. flight+hotel, flight+hotel+car, hotel+car).
It also gives travel agents the ability to set and charge service fees on a transaction by transaction basis.
Standard commission rates include 10% for hotel reservations and 4% for travel package bookings (commission percentages are based on gross booking amounts excluding taxes and fees. All travel package bookings must include a hotel component).
The first 500 travel agents to sign up and make their first booking on www.orbitzforagents.com by March 15, 2010 will earn higher commissions on hotel and travel packages through March 31, 2011. Promotional terms include 12% for hotel reservations and 5% for travel package bookings.
Up to six million extra holidays each year will be fully protected against the failure of a travel company under new measures announced in the UK.
Best Western International has launched a new promotion on its Facebook page. The company says it intends to remind everyone that road warriors are heroes to the people back home, and this promotion is a way to connect the dots between making a living and living it up with those you love.
GetThere has added new capabilities to its mobile offering in order to meet travellers’ needs on the road while still adhering to the corporation’s policies and preferences.
