Orbitz.com introduces`Total Price’ hotel search results
Orbitz.com has decided to include all taxes and fees in its initial price display for hotels on Orbitz.com instead of just the base rate.

Orbitz.com has decided to include all taxes and fees in its initial price display for hotels on Orbitz.com instead of just the base rate.
According to the company, with the launch of Total Price hotel search results, it is now “the only major online travel company” to show base rate, taxes & fees and total price per night upfront on the initial search results page. It added that competitors only show base rates on their initial search results pages making it impossible for consumers to see the total price they will pay until after they have selected their hotel.
“With the launch of Total Price hotel search results we’re making it dramatically easier for consumers to search for hotels,” said Barney Harford, president and CEO of Orbitz Worldwide.
“Until today, there was no convenient way for consumers to compare multiple hotels on a Total Price basis. Consumers had to click through to the details page for each hotel to see how much it would cost to book. With Total Price hotel search results, Orbitz is changing that.”
