Online travel organiser TripIt has expanded its management team with addition of executives from Mozilla, Yahoo! and Travelocity.
The new appointments are as follows:
· Will Aldrich, previously a senior product director at Yahoo!, has joined TripIt as vice president product.
· Peter Harrison, formerly of Travelocity, has been appointed TripIt's vice president marketing.
In addition, TripIt co-founder Scott Hintz moves from product to vice president business development to enable the company to capitalise quickly on new opportunities, including expanding partnerships and building revenue programmes.
TripIt has also announced that John Lilly, CEO, Mozilla Corporation, has joined its board of directors.
The company has raised $6.1 million from investors, including O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, European Founders Fund and Sabre Holdings.
According to a recent Google whitepaper, the number of mobile users researching travel via their mobile devices is expected to grow 51% in 2012.
