Webjet Ltd has posted a 37 percent rise in its total transaction values for the six months to December 2009.
Webjet’s transaction values were $248 million for the half-year to December, compared to $182 million for the same period last year. Total transaction values are the gross value of all flight tickets, hotel bookings and car hire bookings made.
Webjet managing director David Clarke says the company has gained market share via organic growth.
“Webjet has totally defied the broadly reported industry downturn over the last 12 months and in particular during the last six months where our growth rate which has been entirely organic and has vastly exceeded general industry data,” Clarke said.
The $66 million increase exceeded the $58 million improvement recorded in the 12 months to June 2009.
