Air Canada has released a new version of its AC2U direct connect API.
The latest rebuild leverages XML standards and the Distribution 2.0 shopping, booking, and administrative features espoused by the Open AXIS Group..
The project, publically announced in August of last year, has been undergoing initial customer implementations.
Earlier this year, Graham Wareham, senior director, Product Distribution for Air Canada shared that developing New AC2U portal using the Open AXIS Group standard allows the airline “to more cost-effectively expand our distribution reach, while maintaining our product uniqueness and individuality”.
“Supporting a single connectivity distribution strategy through multiple indirect channels, including the GDS and other third parties, in a similar fashion to how we distribute through our direct channels is key for Air Canada,” Wareham had said.
