Amadeus and Evolvi have announced the completion of further joint development with the launch of Evolvi UK Rail (ERS Ltd) as an integrated partner with Amadeus e-Travel Management (AeTM).
Amadeus has been associated with Evolvi since early 2009, offering a UK rail booking solution to corporate travellers through its e-Travel Management system and to travel retailers through Amadeus Selling Platform.
According to Amadeus, the solution offers a complete end to end management information rich rail booking solution to the end user who will be able to use the familiar AeTM booking environment with the added convenience of ERS’ rail content, travel policy compliance routines and easy to use functionality.
The Integrated Partner solution was successfully piloted with Barrhead Travel.
The development has emerged as Amadeus has chosen to strengthen its ties with leading UK rail booking specialists.
Amadeus has commenced discussions with the thetrainline.com to explore opportunities to integrate its rail booking solution for Amadeus e-Travel Management corporate users and travel retailers using Amadeus Selling Platform.
Tim Russell, MD of Amadeus UK says: “Based on customer demand and feedback, Amadeus has taken the decision to offer our corporate and travel retailer customers the opportunity to work with the leading rail booking specialists in the UK rather than focus on our own travel agency point-of-sale solution.”
“By offering deeper integration between Evolvi and Amadeus solutions, our customers will enjoy an even faster, streamlined and easy-to-use rail booking experience,” Russell said.
Amadeus is also continuing its development of a pan-European rail distribution platform that will provide travel sellers and third party software developers access to European rail content for multi-channel distribution.
