BCD Travel has tied up with The Sound of Data, a European communication technology specialist, for its newly launched SMS Flight Notification service.
Post this, the corporate travel management company's clients will receive flight information on their mobile phones (via SMS or email).
The Sound of Data integrates the service into the booking process of the travel agent and the traveller automatically gets notified with the status of his trip, by sms or email, on his mobile phone.
The service for BCD is called 'SMS Trip Info'.
"Travellers dislike delays and have the tendency to double check all information scheduled at the airport, but with this service that is history, they pro-actively get a SMS or email on their mobile with all relevant information and they can go ahead until boarding," said the spokesperson of the company.
The flight notification service is one of the first products which The Sound of Data has introduced in the travel sector.
