Marriott International has strengthened its ties with Pegasus Solutions until 2014 to provide hotel reservation payments for travel agents through Pegasus’ Global Commission Processing service.
Julius Robinson, vice president of global sales intermediaries for Marriott International, highlighted that through Marriott’s Hotel Excellence! training programme, the organisation not only provides agents with the knowledge to sell Marriott, but also provides coaching on selling travel in general.
“We understand that if we can help their business through professional guidance and prompt payment, they’ll serve as valuable partners in helping ours, which is why we opt for Pegasus’ leading commission-processing services,” added Robinson.
Marriott also maintains a track record of receiving a low percentage of agency reconciliation inquiries, only six percent of their bookings result in an inquiry, and 100 percent are closed in an average of less than 23 days (due to Marriott’s data and systems). Pegasus’ Global Commission Processing through Marriott offers agents weekly commission payments with check or direct deposit in any of 37 currencies.
According to a recent Google whitepaper, the number of mobile users researching travel via their mobile devices is expected to grow 51% in 2012.
