SkyWire Media has launched a new service that allows hotel and resort operators to communicate with their customers via text message to their mobile phone.
The company has enabled text messaging for OPERA v5.01.02 from Micros Systems.
SkyWire has integrated its Rooms Connect solution with property management system Opera. It allows hotel and resort operators to send automated messages, as well as personalised customer notifications, from within Opera. Rooms Connect communicates with Opera via web services, and enables several features: Room Ready Alerts can be sent automatically to early-arriving guests, and the system can also send reservation confirmations, guest notifications and other messages directly to guests’ mobile phones.
Room Ready Alerts are sent automatically, notifying early-arriving guests by text message that their room is ready as soon as it is made available in Opera.
“Customers can also be sent an automated text message confirmation when they make hotel reservations, and hotel/resort operators can communicate with guests quickly, easily and unobtrusively,” said Shawn Harris, president and CEO of SkyWire Media.
