OAG has announced its involvement as a key content provider to the new Navman Travel Assist S60 mobile phone application designed for business and leisure travellers.

The global travel and transport information company shared that its OAG’s flight schedule and flight status information will be a key component of this new application, offering access to real-time flight information.

The software will enable the user to search for flight schedules for any destination in the world and will offer alternative flight options at airports in the area.

Consumers will be able to track the status of particular flights themselves, or opt in to an SMS flight status alert service.

“There is such synergy between travel and mobile that mobile is an obvious channel for distribution of our content,” said Isobel McKenna, vice-president - business development, OAG. “We chose to work with Navman because the S60 was designed with data services first and foremost in mind.”

The new NAVMAN solution incorporates content from information providers including Wcities, Arc Transistance and Navteq.
