Germany’s online travel and tourism services provider SKW Flugreisen GmbH has signed a five-year e-commerce technology services agreement with Worldspan.

Germany’s online travel and tourism services provider SKW Flugreisen GmbH has signed a five-year e-commerce technology services agreement with Worldspan.

The companies have been partners in online travel distribution since 1995, when SKW Flugreisen launched its first travel portal, www.skyways.de, which continues to serve Germany’s online travel buyers.

The agreement expands the use of Worldspan’s Internet and travel distribution solutions to further advance SKW Flugreisen’s online platform, which includes a new Austrian portal, and to accommodate the company’s sustained growth rate of five to 10 percent annually.

Worldspan will continue to power travel distribution through SKW Flugreisen’s websites with a global shopping and booking platform, state-of-the-art online transaction processing services and global travel content from the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS). SKW Flugreisen will soon employ Worldspan’s XML Pro data exchange solution to blend the latest online distribution capabilities into Internet Booking Engine (IBE), to be launched at the company’s websites this summer.

SKW Skyways Flugreisen GmbH provides online travel buyers in Germany and Austria with full-service travel planning and booking services for worldwide flights, package tours, last-minute travel, car rentals and hotel accommodations.
