The Star Alliance network says it has now become the first airline alliance to introduce an easy fare finder mobile application. Using the new Star Alliance FareFinder app, customers can search for either one-way or return fares for flights between any two airports on the Star Alliance network.

The new iPhone app was developed and is powered by ITA Software.

In order to obtain the information that best matches the customers’ wishes, the app allows for additional search criteria like number of passengers, arrival or departure times, class of service, number of stops, transfer airports and point of sale. The app also displays availability so the customers can then select the airline(s) they wish to travel on.

Seamless mobile booking is not yet available through Star Alliance FareFinder. Once you have decided on a fare, guided by the FareFinder app, customers can then book via the appropriate airline call centre or website.

Christopher Korenke, Vice President Commercial at Star Alliance said, “Alongside our existing popular Star Alliance Navigator iPhone app, it places us in pole position in terms of providing customers mobile access to essential alliance travel information.”

Few weeks ago Star Alliance unveiled its new app for the iPhone that allows customers to access Alliance travel information. This app is the Alliance’s first on the iPhone and is currently available in English. The free Star Alliance Navigator app for iPhone offers a range of useful mobile tools including Flight Tracking, Flight Search, and Airport Information services for Star Alliance member carriers and frequent international travellers.
