Online travel agency vayama.com, a subsidiary of BCD Holdings, has launched low cost airline deals through its European brands.

The company says now American travellers can “boost their airfare savings by accessing the world of low-cost airlines” for their intra-European trips with vayama’s European brands: cheaptickets.nl and cheaptickets.de.

vayama intends to offer discounted airfares across the European continent, including low-cost airlines and legacy carriers, complementing the discounted trans-Atlantic airfares already offered on vayama.com. There is going to be an option to compare low-cost, intra-European airfares side-by-side with legacy carrier fares in a single search. This facilitates the creation of multiple-stop vacations by allowing users to plan side trips out of the European hubs served by vayama’s trans-Atlantic airfares.

Vayama, now in its fourth year of operation, has expanded its operations to provide more localised services to its international customer base launching new sites in Canada, the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Thailand, and Hong Kong; with four more countries to be added in 2011.

Last month, BCD Holdings announced the merger of CheapTickets, Vliegwinkel, Flugladen, BudgetAir and Vayama. Together with investors ING Corporate Investments, Bluefield Investments and the owners of Beins Travel Group (CheapTickets), BCD Holdings says it has chosen to unite these online travel companies, forming a new Internet travel organisation with global reach. The new organisation, led by the existing management and including offices in the Netherlands, Germany, the US and India, is active in more than 15 countries, with approximately 350 employees and an annual total revenue of over US$750 million.
