The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched a travel portal.
The new site, ViaSingapore.com, enables users to compare the best deals for flights in and out of Singapore, including fares on both full service and low cost carriers.
According to local media, ViaSingapore.com has been launched as Singapore-centric meta-search engine that aims to promote travel in and out of the country and market Changi Airport as a world-class hub.
The engine, ViaSingapore.com, is being promoted in Australia, China, Indonesia, India and the UK through a digital campaign run on TripAdvisor, Virtual Tourist, Lonely Planet and Google.
CAAS' director-general and chief executive officer, Lim Kim Choon, said, "ViaSingapore is a convenient one-stop shop that offers travellers the best airfares to come to Singapore or to explore the Asia Pacific region from Singapore, by tapping on Singapore Changi Airport's extensive connectivity. The introduction of this portal is part of CAAS' ongoing efforts to enhance Changi Airport's attractiveness as an air hub."
According to brandrepublic.asia, ViaSingapore offers tools to compare airfare deals and track flight information from Changi Airport provided through a partnership with travel serach engine Wego.com. It includes information on hotel rates as well as editorial and user-generated content including travel guides and blogs, videos and uploaded images.
The site was developed by Qais Consulting following an account pitch in May. Qais is also responsible for mangaing ViaSingapore's digital push.
