Assuring customers about pricing, Priceline Cruises has introduced a concept of 110% Best-Price Guarantee.
Priceline.com says that Priceline Cruises will now give a 110% refund to
any customer who books a priceline.com cruise and finds a better
publicly available price for the same cruise within 48 hours.
Aaron Wasserman, general manager, Priceline Cruises said that the new
initiative means that customers can come to the company and book with
confidence knowing how strongly priceline.com stands behind its product
and its pricing.
The company stated that Priceline Cruise customers can research their
ideal cruise according to several criteria, can browse the featured
best-deal cruises offered on that day, can enter a particular month and
see all the available cruises and destinations for that time frame, can
pick a departure port or destination and see all the cruises being
offered or they can pick their favorite cruise line and see its
offerings and prices. "For each cruise line, customers can see
individual ship statistics, deck plans, cabin layouts and descriptions
of the ship's public areas and attractions. For each cruise, customers
can view sailing times, itineraries, off-ship activities and sightseeing
suggestions and maps of the cruise," says the company.
When a cruise customer is ready to book a Priceline Cruise, they can
either book most cruises directly online or call a certain line to speak
to a Priceline Cruise Consultant.
Citing examples of cruise deals available at Priceline Cruises, the
company said cruise prices include stateroom and meals, but do not
include applicable taxes, port charges or airfare and transfers. Quoted
prices were available on October 3, 2005. Prices and availability can
change at any time.
Examples:
- 5-night Pacific Coastal cruise from San Francisco aboard the Norwegian
Spirit, from $199 per person, double occupancy, which is equivalent to
$40 a day.
- 7-night Bermuda cruise from Philadelphia aboard Celebrity's Horizon,
from $400 per person, double occupancy, which is equivalent to $57 a
day.
- 4-night Baja Mexico cruise from Los Angeles aboard Carnival's
Paradise, from $239 per person, double occupancy, which is equivalent to
$60 a day.
10-night Hawaiian Islands cruise from Honolulu aboard the Norwegian
Wind, from $719 per person, double occupancy, which is equivalent to $72
a day.
Last month, Priceline.com stated that a cruise may be one of this fall's
best travel values and the increased use of major city ports puts a
cruise vacation just a cab ride away.
"Is your fall vacation on hold because of gasoline and airline ticket
prices? Then this might be the year to take a cruise," the company had
said in a release. Increasingly, major cruise lines have brought their
product to their customers by departing from over 20 major seaports
around the U.S., including New York City, Boston, Bayonne (NJ),
Philadelphia, Norfolk, Baltimore, Miami, Tampa, Houston, Seattle, San
Francisco and Los Angeles. "For large segments of the nation's
population, getting to the cruise ship is as easy as taking a bus, cab,
train or even subway. No long drives to the port. And no airline tickets
and schedules to match up with ship departure and arrival. By
eliminating most of their travel costs, cruise buyers can take a cruise
vacation for as little as $55 per person per day - including stateroom
and food," the company had said.
