Online travel and leisure retailer lastminute.com has launched a new credit card in the UK market.

The card, launched in partnership with MBNA and MasterCard, offers a rewards programme, earning points on all card purchases, combined with exclusive frequent offers on travel and lifestyle products. The lastminute.com credit card will offer cardholders zero percent on all card purchases for nine months from the date the account is opened.

The company shared that any card purchases with lastminute.com attract a higher rate of reward points - two points per £1 spent. Elsewhere, card purchases attract one point for every £1 spent. Customers can earn 1,500 lastminute.com points when they spend £250 within the first 90 days of account opening - equivalent to a £15 lastminute.com gift voucher.

Also, lastminute.com credit card customers will receive exclusive deals on theatre, restaurants, spas and lifestyle experiences. They can opt to save and redeem their reward points as gift vouchers for these offers and for products available on lastminute.com. Reward points are accrued with every card purchase.

The new card provides zero percent on both balance transfers and money transfers for six months from the date the account is opened (as long as they are made within 90 days of the account opening) for a 2.5 percent handling fee. The lastminute.com credit card has a representative rate of 18.9 percent APR variable.

Other benefits include paperless statements and the option to use contactless payments which allows customers to Tap & Go with MasterCard PayPass to pay quickly and securely for purchases under £15 without entering a PIN.

The lastminute.com credit card is issued by MBNA Europe Bank Limited, a Bank of America company.
