TVtrip.com has signed a deal with Accor Hotels to film 900 hotels in more than 100 worldwide destinations over the next six months.

The agreement covers most of Accor’s brands. Accor has chosen TVtrip to serve the property videos directly onto the Accorhotels.com website.

Following filming, Accor will also display videos on TVtrip’s 25 international sites.

TVtrip.com received $9 million in Series B financing from its original VC investors Balderton Capital, Partech International and new investor AGF Private Equity in February this year.

It describes videos as ideal informative content. During EyeforTravel’s European Sales and Marketing in Travel Summit in Munich last year, Marc Ruff, CEO, TVTrip had said, “Today, video in travel is “a nice to have” as there is no customer expectations. Soon, video in travel will become a pre-requisite to sell online.”

TVtrip’s primary revenue comes from affiliation, generating income from qualified leads sent to travel partner sites. Secondary revenue sources are advertising and the licensing of its video catalogue. It had also added an embeddable player allowing partner sites – particularly travel guides and media portals - to access its video inventory free of charge.
