MakeMyTrip.com (MMT) has started offering multi-city booking which allows users to book up to seven flights in one go, and through a single transaction.

According to MMT, 17 percent of the flight bookings made on MakeMyTrip are done by SME and corporates. The multi-segment reservations feature is expected to receive tremendous endorsement from this category of travellers, stated the online travel agency.

MMT has also introduced an airline rating tab on the flights section to assist users in selecting a flight. This tab showcases the historic on-time performance of each flight in the options presented before the traveler as well as the average delay time. The data is updated every fortnight.

The agency expects these initiatives to increase stickiness-factor in a low-involvement category like air-tickets.

While the multi-hop bookings is primarily aimed at business and corporate travellers, the airline rating will assist travelers for whom on-time performance is a criteria for flight selection over the price, time of departure and other parameters.

The Airline Rating feature is available on all airlines hooked to the Departure Control System. Currently Air India and GoAir are the two carriers that are not looped in this system and therefore their flights do not reflect this information. Going forward, MakeMyTrip intends to power this engine through self-collated information for these flights.
