Online travel company Expedia has launched a new one-minute commercial in Australian and New Zealand.

According to a report filed by campaignbrief.com, this new ad campaign officially introduces Expedia to Australian and New Zealand travellers.

“We are seeking to break the mould with travellers and prove that it really does matter where they book. Put simply, we want to be the single best place for Australians and New Zealanders to book travel,” said Louise Crompton, marketing manager for Expedia.com.au and Expedia.co.nz.

The commercial highlights the supremacy of the online travel company. The commercial shares that over 190,000 hotels beds are booked everyday by Expedia. It suggests that consumers should “book with the world’s largest online travel company”.

It is the first TV spot to be created by BMF since the agency was appointed to the account in September last year, reported mumbrella. The TV commercial was directed by Goodoil’s Michael Spiccia and shot at Lake Bathurst in New South Wales with a cast and crew of more than 100 people.

The theme of the ad is based around an expansive visual containing hundreds of hotel housekeepers making up beds of different kinds and sizes, acting in unison as they do so. The company said the imagery aims to convey Expedia’s scale and unique selling proposition as being part of the world’s largest online travel company, while being “uniquely Australasian at the same time”.
