Propel Media, Inc. has launched a social media platform for travel deals, BestTravelDeals.net.

The site allows travel providers to share deals at no cost, and community members to vote on the deals.

According to the company, the site is the only travel deals social voting platform on the web that provides travel suppliers a free platform to showcase their offerings.

“Down markets are full of opportunities and social travel deals are an unserved niche,” said Mary Song, founder of BestTravelDeals.net.

“Millions of travelers each month are searching for the best travel deals but may not always know a good deal from a bad deal. BestTravelDeals.net answers that question by allowing the entire travel community to share, vote on and review travel deals allowing the best deals to rise to the top. BestTravelDeals.net has tapped into the collective wisdom of the entire travel market to help travelers and suppliers achieve their goals,” she added.

Last month, a new travel site Voyij.com, described as the first site “to access and organise all the best travel deals, sales and promotions all under one roof”, was launched. Voyij has been set up by Brent Stewart, its CTO Nick Atkins and Paul Kim. Stewart also co-founded SideStep, while the other two also have had stints with the same travel search engine (acquired by Kayak towards the end of 2007).
