Tripbase, a discovery engine for personalised vacation ideas, has raised $2 million in Series A financing.

Details regarding investors wasnt disclosed.

The site’s destination discovery engine uses semantic search to match travellers’ preferences with the most relevant information online.

Users simply enter in their vacation preferences and Tripbase analyses information taken from over 22 million travel reviews to generate a personalised list of recommended destinations, flights, hotels etc.

Tripbase’s CEO and co-Founder, Reuven Levitt said that this round of funding will enable the company to expand its current offering and enrich its travel recommendation technology.

Tripbase’s Road Trip Planner is the latest addition to the site’s travel recommendation services. It offers road trip ideas tailored to driving distances and vacation preferences, providing budget recommendations to a whole new segment of undecided travellers.
