FatWire Software, a leading provider of content management solutions for the travel industry, announced that it has been ranked by Forrester Research as the sole Leader in persuasive content-centric applications in its Forrester Wave: Content-Centric Appl
The key findings of this report confirm FatWire’s ability to help travel providers put content to work in engaging, persuasive sites that inspire prospects and increase conversions. FatWire travel industry customers include Mexicana Airlines, Radisson/SAS, Center Parcs, and Boscolo Tours.
"With an almost exclusive focus on persuasive content, and strong Web content management, reporting and analytics, and multichannel content delivery, FatWire established itself as the sole persuasive content application Leader," writes Forrester analyst Kyle McNabb in the report. "FatWire's multichannel content delivery strengths include implicit and explicit personalization to end users based on their segmentation. And the vendor's reporting and analytics help close the loop on content delivery by providing insight into how end users utilize content. The vendor also works closely with channel partners to develop templated persuasive content solutions addressing customer service knowledge delivery needs and closed loop marketing."
The FatWire solution can help travel companies build competitive advantage and avoid the creeping commodisation of look-alike “beds-and-seats” sites. “First generation travel sites are primarily booking applications; they tend to assume that the visitor has already made a purchase decision and just needs to complete the transaction,” said Tim Walters, director of international marketing and strategy at FatWire. “Travel providers now recognize that the online channel can and should operate more like an agent or call center, by providing content, recommendations and reviews that inspire the visitor, extend their travel options and offer a travel experience tailored to individual needs.”
FatWire was among thirteen Enterprise Content Management (ECM) suite and component vendors that Forrester invited to participate in its Content-Centric Applications Wave report. Forrester's comprehensive Wave methodology assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each vendor's solution using a combination of hands-on lab evaluations, vendor surveys, product demonstrations, and client interviews.
This endorsement of FatWire's technology and market strategy comes after FatWire was cited as a Leader in Forrester's Web Content Management Wave for external sites in April, 2005 , and as a Leader in the Web Content Management for Retail Wave in August, 2005.
