Orbitz Worldwide has signed an exclusive, multi-year partnership with New Orleans-based iSeatz to develop customised private label and in-path travel solutions.
Orbitz has combined its application programming interface (API) capabilities and inventory of its suppliers with the iSeatz OneView platform.
As part of the agreement, the online travel company will give customers of existing iSeatz partners including Delta Air Lines, KLM/Air France and Amtrak, the ability to book travel products through the Orbitz Worldwide global network of suppliers.
“As ancillary revenue development becomes a critical priority for airlines around the world, the Orbitz-iSeatz in-path solution offers airlines the ability to massively increase their hotel and car attachment versus the industry's existing, outdated solutions,” said Barney Harford, president and CEO of Orbitz Worldwide.
He added that the combination provides partners “with the most flexible and customisable private label solution in the marketplace today”.
Some of the key benefits of this partnership include:
According to a recent Google whitepaper, the number of mobile users researching travel via their mobile devices is expected to grow 51% in 2012.
