Hotels.com has launched a new service – Picture Pillows – that enables business travellers to send in a photo of a loved one for Hotels.com to turn into a bespoke pillow case.
Alison Couper, director of communications for Hotels.com, said: "As a frequent traveller myself, I know how tough it can be to be separated from partners and kids. While this might not be quite the same as falling asleep next to your loved one, we hope that this reminder of home will bring a smile to those business travellers who have to be away from friends and family – particularly over Christmas."
Hotels.com's new service is being trialled in the run up to Christmas and the first 100 travellers to email a picture of their loved one to pillowphotos@hotels.com will receive their personalised pillow case.
According to a recent Google whitepaper, the number of mobile users researching travel via their mobile devices is expected to grow 51% in 2012.
