nowfly.co.uk, a travel search engine, has been launched with an objective to provide an "easy, quick, fun and best-priced way" of booking travel requirements including a flight, hotel or car rental.
The site, the first one in the UK to employ the full suite of the TRAVELfusion API, searches low-cost, charter and scheduled airlines. The site says it searches more than 340 airlines with routes, fares and availability and gives the user essential information about booking their flight, hotel or car rental.
The business is being headed by Dan Hart.
"With the faltering economy and uncertainty over who flies where after a rash of airline failures, now more than ever, people should be using a fare comparison engine like nowfly.co.uk to find the best deals," said Hart.
nowfly.co.uk uses the Ajax web application, retrieving data from the server asynchronously in the background. The website has geo-coded results for hotel chains and major consolidators, using the Google Maps Application Programming Interface (API) to visually place hotel results.

Research from EyeforTravel clearly highlights that social media is becoming an increasingly important marketing channel for travel brands. While search engine (29%) and email (28%) still lead the way, social media (20%) is fast playing catch up.
Businesses are constantly evaluating the influence of social media on consumer purchasing decisions. By being proactive with an appealing page, travel companies can keep their fans happy and target ‘friends of fans’ for a bigger reach, writes Ritesh Gupta
