Travel price comparison site travelsupermarket.com claims to have launched a first in online travel - dynamic travel comparison - the ability to simultaneously search the best price for a flight, hotel and car rental from over 120 different travel provide

On the latest development, Chris Nixon, director of travelsupermarket.com says the choice of online travel options is becoming so wide that "people can feel bewildered when searching for the best travel deal".

"It is the purpose of our website to make life easier, by cutting through all the travel websites, be they specialist car rental sites, accommodation sites, or more general sites such as lastminute.com or ebookers.com, to ensure that our end-user knows where the best options are for their requirements," says Nixon.

The company says the new functionality feeds the increasing demand by holidaymakers to tailor-make travel requirements and will deliver comprehensive results in under 30 seconds.

Nixon says as `self packaging' becomes more popular, people are 'savvy' to the fact that it is worth shopping around for the best deal for each component of their holiday. "Our new dynamic travel comparison delivers a seamless and effective way in find the best deals which would otherwise involve hours of frustrated time searching online," added Nixon.

The company stated, "Visitors to the site will now have the choice to search for flight, hotel or car rental separately, or alternatively combine each search so they can receive simultaneous results for flights and car rental, or flights, car rental and hotels. In essence, they will be able to 'dynamically' package their own holiday by choosing from the best deals from element of travel. This could mean that they choose to combine a charter flight option from www.thomsonfly.com, with a five star hotel from www.hotelClub.com and an estate car from www.holidayautos.com, the options are endless."

Referring to findings from the surveys, the company referred to the Office of National Statistics, according to which (as per latest travel trends survey) 68% of people using the Internet did so to search for information about travel and accommodation with 50% of people likely to book a holiday on the Internet over the next two years. In addition Hitwise data showed that the number of travel websites over the past year (from Feb 04 - to 05) has increased by 30%, making the online travel environment increasingly cluttered.

Citing an example, the company said a search for a one week holiday, with car rental, to Marbella, Spain from the 8th September 2005 (specified five star hotel accommodation and an economy car) brought up the following results (prices correct at time of writing):

· Best flight - Thomsonfly (www.thomsonfly.com), for return flights from Luton to Malaga, including taxes for £119.

· Best car rental - Simply Car Hire (www.simplycar hire.com), Fiat Punto 2 door or similar, fully inclusive insurance - £63.42 for 7 day rental.

· Best hotel - Hotelopia (www.hotelopia.com) Hotel Torrequebrada, Benalmadena £85.57 per room for bed and breakfast.
