WikiTouri search engine to deliver multilingual travel assistance services

This new tool, developed by wholly owned subsidiary Vocalenvision, Inc. (V&V), is designed to deliver highly customised, on demand, local information to international travelers through their mobile phone.

The proprietary WikiTouri search engine, based on the widely popular Internet Wiki concept, provides consumers with updated and verified details on local information such as hotels, restaurants, theatre and other travel related services.

The WikiTouri database is structured to provide the company's multilingual operator information service a more efficient method of finding and delivering accurate content to travelers. WikiTouri has been developed in response to a high consumer demand from actual calls received at V&V's international call centers, according to a release.

"WikiTouri represents a ground-breaking tool for travel services and, to our knowledge, is unlike any other mobile content service available to tourists today. The consumer market for our WikiTouri search engine service has great potential especially when you consider the company's recent efforts at securing relationships with several national telecom operators. Furthermore, the opportunity is considerable given the recent resurgence in the growing international tourist market," said Claude Buchert, President and CEO, Continan Communications, Inc.

Although the WikiTouri tool is currently being used for V&V's internal requirement to deliver accurate information efficiently through its worldwide call centers, the company envisions a second stage of deployment that will include a white label application of the WikiTouri's search engine service geared towards international companies in the tourism industry.

"A natural follow up to this will be to launch a public Internet version of the tool with expected revenues coming from travel related advertising sponsors," stated the company.
