The Summit and Research Conference
The EyeforTravel Travel Distribution Summit is has been an increasingly successful forum for bringing together key players in the electronic tourism marketplace. This year there were 1600 participants and over 50 exhibitors with all key industry sectors well represented including hotels, airlines, tour operators, agencies as well as the new distributors, the search engines.
For 2007, the highly successful innovative research conference initiated in 2006 will be further developed as a leading showcase for leading edge research work. For researchers this will provide a unique and an extremely attractive combination of a research conference with the formal double blind review process for research papers couple to subsidised access to leading industry players through Europe's premier travel industry conference. Academics attending will benefit from:
- Presenting at a top research conference with a formal double blind review for all full papers
- Discounted access to the leading industry conference and major industry networking opportunity.. All bona fide academics attending the Research Conference will be entitled to access the Travel Distribution Summit activities on the same basis as full industry delegates at a highly discounted rate (a saving of over £800).
- Unparalleled dissemination opportunities for research work. Papers will be published in a formal (ISBN) set of proceedings, a synopsis of the papers along with researcher profile and contact information will be displayed in a dedicated Research Zone on the Exhibition floor, where they can be accessed by top travel industry players. This zone will also provide the opportunity to peruse research centre profiles from around the world. A synopsis of research presentations and researcher profiles will also be made available through the conference website. This will provide vast post-conference exposure with research paper synopses being downloadable b y attendees and then EyeforTravel readership (currently around 150,000 per month).
The headline title for the conference is travel distribution but this should be considered for wide interpretation by researchers as there is clear interest across all pertinent aspects of the electronic tourism domain. Indicative research topics might include the following:
