InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG) has chosen Pegasus Solutions to perform commission processing on behalf of its hotels to travel agents and distributors worldwide.

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG) has chosen Pegasus Solutions to perform commission processing on behalf of its hotels to travel agents and distributors worldwide.

Mike Martin, senior vice president of distribution operations and technology, IHG, said Pegasus consolidates payments to member agencies, which reduces the number of payments each agency receives, improving IHG’s relationship with the agent community.

“IHG also benefits from Pegasus’ agency-friendly services such as direct deposit and payments in many local currencies,” said Martin. “For our thousands of hotels around the world, we like Pegasus’ web-based TravelCom tool, which is very user-friendly for hoteliers to make updates regarding guest departures. This tool will help us improve the timeliness of commissions.”

John Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Pegasus said that decision on part of IHG indicates the value it places on the vital role that travel agents play in hotel reservations.

“Service is a big aspect of what we do. Pegasus’ network of offices provide travel agency support and are able to directly resolve nearly 80 percent of inquiries. It’s that kind of detail that sets our service apart for hoteliers such as IHG,” said David.
