Hotel search engine Room 77 says it is now helping travellers uncover special rates, including advanced purchase, AAA member rates and senior discounts -- saving travellers up to 50 percent off other online travel providers.

The company, which has introduced several new tools, said this offering is in addition to searching multiple online travel sites simultaneously.

Travellers can now also earn loyalty points with their favourite hotel brands for most bookings made directly through Room 77. Also, Room 77 has introduced the flexibility to pay at the hotel. The company mentioned that with these two offerings, it has addressed two of the most common complaints travellers have about booking hotels online.

“We search more sites and now offer more rates so travellers are assured to find the best hotel deal out there,” said Kevin Fliess, general manager and vice president of product for Room 77.

Serving Best Options

To find the best hotel options, travellers simply enter their destination, travel dates and any relevant filters, including special rates exclusively for AAA members (The AAA trademark is the property of the American Automobile Association) and seniors. The company mentioned that instantly, Room 77 reveals the lowest price for available hotels, comparing rates available through Room 77 alongside all other major online travel agencies, such as Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, Priceline, Hotels.com, Booking.com and more.

Room 77 has focused on making it easy for travellers to review rate type and quickly determine if the booking is eligible for loyalty points and if payment can be made at the hotel. Travellers then can choose to book directly on Room 77 or through a participating partner.

The site, which was founded in 2009 and has raised $13.5 million to date, also shared examples of actual bookings made on Room 77 over the past seven days. Examples include:
