Hotwire.com considers Latin America to be a “high-growth area”. Over the past two years, the company has focused on expanding its presence throughout the region, particularly in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Going forward, Hotwire is planning to build upon our existing offerings in smaller, niche destinations such as St. Maarten, St. Lucia and Barbados.

“The demand from our customers for travel to the region is increasing, and we’re meeting that demand by working with suppliers throughout Latin America,” Clem Bason, vice-president - Hotel Supplier Relations, Hotwire.com told EyeforTravel.com's Ritesh Gupta.

“We have several market managers who are focused on building relationships with hoteliers and expanding our offerings in the markets. We’ve initially focused on establishing a strong presence in key destinations like Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, and the Bahamas,” says Bason.

On plans for future, Bason says, “From day one, we’ve focused on helping suppliers sell excess inventory by offering deeply discounted rates to consumers. This focus will not change. We’re always evaluating new opportunities to deliver value to our supplier partners while making Hotwire.com the best place to find great deals on travel.”

Hotwire has focused on expanding its partnerships with hoteliers in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe, as international travel continues to grow in popularity.

“We’ve also completed two key initiatives that have enhanced our hotel offerings for consumers,” says Bason.

First, Hotwire introduced a first-of-its-kind promise to increase customers’ confidence when purchasing hotel rooms. Hotwire pledges to rebook or compensate travelers if it lowers a property’s star rating before, or within 60 days after, their hotel stay.

“We also enhanced the customer experience when shopping for hotel rooms. Hotwire hotel search results now include more detailed mapping and information on savings, hotel amenities and attractions in the area,” says Bason.
