Accommodation provider Bedsearcher has bought its former IT sub-contractor and service provider.

The move to buy out Yorkshire-based SSRI Ltd is the latest move in the firm’s quest to speed up technology development.

Bedsearcher recently announced it has entered the global hotel booking market – a pivotal milestone in the firm’s aggressive growth plans to increase sales from £4m to £40m.

According to the company, its key differentiators in the marketplace is its PINPOINT search engine technology which offers a more personalised and precise service. “Statistics show users are 15 times more likely to find what they are looking for and book first time with the site - converting a staggering one in 20 users – compared with the average one in 300,” according to the company.

All SSRI’S other work has now been released and former managing director Stewart Turnbull has taken on the new role of IT director at Bedsearcher - the move has already enabled the company to speed up its technology development three-fold.

Co-founder, Jim Mann, said: “The integration has been hugely successful; development work we had scheduled to take three months is now being done in three weeks. It got to a point where using an out-sourced facility was no longer suitable for such rapid development work. It’s Bedsearcher’s technology which is enabling it to do what others in the market can’t and we now know industry giants such as Laterooms and Expedia are looking over their shoulder at us.”

Bedsearcher is a hotel booking service which offers a complete guide to UK and some international hotels, bed and breakfasts and guest houses.
