Cleartrip introduces one-click flight bookings
Mumbai, India-based online travel portal Cleartrip.com says it has introduced the fastest way to book flights.
Cleartrip’s new feature Expressway allows users to book their flights with just one click.
The company shared that Expressway allows customers to save their name, address and credit card or debit card details once in their account to enable one-click booking for all future trips. It avoids the tedious process of entering card details, name and address every time they book and helps in finishing the booking in a fast manner.
According to Cleartrip, over 77 percent of its flight bookings are by users who book for a single passenger and it wanted to make the act of booking faster for its customers.
The company said Expressway is a first in India, a country where making payments online is complicated and prone to error.
Initally, Expressway feature supports only domestic flight bookings. In future, hotel and train bookings will be supported.
How it works
Expressway is an opt-in feature and needs to be turned on.
If users have enabled Expressway feature in their account, they will be able to do one-click payments for all their future bookings when they are logged in on Cleartrip site. For one-pax flight bookings, once you select your flight itinerary, all you need to do is enter the CVV for the card pre-selected based on Expressway settings. This will take you to the payment page where you can enter your VBV/3D-Secure password to complete the payment. One can change the payment card by clicking on edit and adding a new card or selecting a different payment method. Users can also change the traveller name if they want to book this trip for another person.
Once users store a card using Expressway on their desktop site, the feature gets enabled on the mobile site also and vice-versa.
New Design and Features
The company also shared that it has completely redesigned and revamped user experience. The new Cleartrip Account features an improved visual design and information architecture. The company has made it easier for users to manage their Cleartrip profile and they can add useful profile details such as frequent flyer numbers, seat and meal preferences, passport details and more.
One of the new features is Expressway.
