Dolphin Dynamics to introduce tour operator solution

Published: 12 Nov 2007

Dolphin will provide an integrated end-to-end solution " focused on the needs of the modern tour operator, from the independent specialists to the large enterprises that contract with hundreds of properties and require a flexible and automated platform, scalable to support a high volume of real time product searches and transactions across multiple distribution channels."

Dolphin Dynamics' President Roberto Da Re said the dramatic pace of change in the travel industry is driving many traditional travel agencies to move into the full tour operation space in order to thrive.

"We have therefore decided this is the right time to deliver our own tour operator solution, building on the strength of our booking engine and back office automation technology. With this new innovation Dolphin will offer a fully integrated, single view platform - from booking engine to POS and ground database to mid and back office. We believe we can deliver the most comprehensive and flexible multi-channel tour operator solution on the market," he said.

The introduction of fully integrated new product database will complement existing functionality which already supports a wide range of tour operator-specific requirements, including dynamic packaging, split commission calculations, rules based pricing, ATOL reporting, self-billing invoicing and SPS payment requests.

"Incorporating features such as contract and allocation management, passenger manifest production, and automated supplier confirmation, the new ground product database has been designed to handle the myriad of special offers made available by hoteliers and ground handlers, including "Early Bird" discounts, Stay 7 Pay 5, mandatory supplements, honeymoon discounts, and more. Integration with the Dolphin TravelScanner sales module enables users to search, compare and combine locally contracted rates with dynamic content provided via XML interfaces to a range of suppliers of hotel inventory, as well as low cost carriers, scheduled flights and other ground products," stated the company.

The first phase of the solution is scheduled for release in December, enabling users to load contracts and quote itineraries in time for the January peak season. The official launch is being planned for February.
