Worldspan and Home&Abroad have signed a travel services agreement, resulting in new destination planning application for travel agents in the US and Canada.

Through a new web-based interface between the companies’ systems, Home&Abroad’s Trip Planning tool has been introduced to the Worldspan Go! Resource Center, an advanced web portal within the Worldspan Go! travel agency desktop system.

Worldspan has also redesigned the Go! Resource Center with a new interface and several content presentation enhancements.

After a trip is booked in Worldspan, travel agents are able to use the online link to Home&Abroad’s Trip Planning application for value-added customer service.

The link connects agents to an expansive portal of products, services, current information and booking tools for more than 85 destinations worldwide, and new cities are added each week. Offerings include sightseeing tours, event tickets, cultural attractions and much more. The tool enables Worldspan agents to enhance client relationships by supplying travelers with select onsite activities in advance of travel. Agents can customise Home&Abroad’s Trip Planning tool to their travel agencies, and include personalised introductions and trip notes when sending itinerary ideas to clients, according to a release.

“Home&Abroad provides a valuable service enhancement tool for agents that is rich in content and easily accessed through the Go! Resource Center,” said Kathy Fitzpatrick, Worldspan VP - North America Sales and Worldwide Travel Supplier Solutions. “Today’s travelers are looking for resources that provide both exceptional travel value and utmost personal convenience. This tool will build satisfaction and loyalty among travelers for their Worldspan agents.”

A link to the Home&Abroad portal is also offered through Worldspan’s My Trip and More online traveler itinerary Web site (mytripandmore.com). The Worldspan Go! Resource Center features a new graphical user interface (GUI), refined content categories and other enhancements. Travel agents use the web-
based portal to shop and book tours, cruises, packaged travel, non-GDS hotels, travel insurance and many other value-added services. A new Product Spotlight, currently featuring Home&Abroad, increases visibility when new suppliers are added, and the Go! Resource Center is newly accessible from the My Links tab
on the Go! desktop.
