Abacus International has named Nikhil Dhodapkar as managing director of its wholly owned subsidiary Abacus Distribution Systems (India) Pvt Ltd.

Abacus International has named Nikhil Dhodapkar as managing director of its wholly owned subsidiary Abacus Distribution Systems (India) Pvt Ltd.

Before his move to Abacus, Dhodapkar held senior management position with Carlson Hotels Worldwide, South Asia.

Dhodapkar takes over the helm from interim managing director Charmaine Ng, who is returning to Singapore to rejoin Abacus International.

Kenneth Low, VP - South Asia, Abacus said Dhodapkar's vast experience across the full spectrum of the travel industry will be a tremendous asset to Abacus and demonstrates the GDS's continued focus on India as a strategic market.

"In the last year, the Abacus team in India has set the stage for Abacus to foray into the Corporate TMC segment in India and also maintain our position of strength in the online space," said Kim.
