Hostelworld.com says it has become the first hostel booking site to guarantee reservations.

Announcing the launch of its Service Guarantee, the company said in the unlikely event that after making a secure online reservation through www.hostelworld.com, a customer arrives at the property and the property cannot locate a reservation, then Hostelworld.com will not only credit the customer’s account with the deposit but will add an additional $20 credit toward future accommodation bookings on Hostelworld.com.

“In the event that customers must make a Service Guarantee credit claim, they just fill in a short form detailing the problem they encountered at the property on arrival. Our customer service team will follow it up from there,” said Hostelworld.com’s Customer Services Manager Orla Gilmore.
